 Innovation is the need of the hour .

The class on Innovation and Experimentation was handled by Mrs Smita, PRT   who attended the one day workshop held at K V Kanjikode on 20th August 2015.

     She gave a very succinct presentation of what is Action Research  and how to use it as a tool in framing, executing and evaluating  an innovative project. She also gave a brief note of the Innovative Project done by Mrs Rug,imi Menon ,TGT English K V Kanjikode for which she had won the Award in 2011.

     Mrs Smita  also gave a summary of the Project  Anyonyam ,done by Mrs Leena Mukundan TGT SST K V Kanjikode for which she has won the National Innovative Award 2015. This session was followed by  a presentation on SWOT Analysis and  why innovate and what is innovation all about in a school environment.It was  made clear how any project chosen has to be put through SWOT at the beginning during and culmination of the project.

    She also explained about the various documentation process and formalities related to the presentation of innovative projects through the help of the KVS Circular in the website .

     In the last session she familiarized the teachers with some software programmes which can be used like application of google drive, www.flubbaroo.com, drawio.com , www.glissy .com etc which will enable conduction , organization , presentation and interpretation of data collected for a project.


The teachers were motivated to  take up an innovative and experimentation project for the next term and handover the details of the strategies and methods of execution.

The following points related to innovation and experimentation was discussed in the Regional CMP Meeting conducted on 15/10/2015 at Ernakulam.

Every Primary teacher shall have an on-going innovative project. The project can begin in a small way and concentrate not only on better teaching methodology but also it can be imparting values among students etc. An innovative practice can be a means of professional improvement and not necessarily a means to win accolades. There need be no hesitation on the part of the teachers that adopting an innovative methodology means, collecting evidence and applying for an award.

A workshop on Innovation and experimentation was conducted by KV Kanjikode which was attended by all the schools of this region. The Principals of the Vidyalayas should evince more interest and convince the staff to adopt innovative practices to remain active and alive in the atmosphere of teaching and learning.Innovations taken up by the Vidyalayas may be uploaded in their school website.

As a follow up the topics taken up for Innovation and experimentation are listed as follows . The list  has been uploaded in the website. The follow up of the project and detailed planning is recorded in the teachers diary.

KVS Organises several Workshops and orientation programmes for teachers through out the year. Teachers selected for the training programmes come back and pass the important gist of the workshop content and carry out the follow up process.

The following training  programmes were attended by the teachers of K V Payyanur.

  • ·        CPPDPT Programme

K V Payyanur is the study centre for the workshop based activites of CPPDPT Programme for Primary teachers. 10 Primary teachers from variousschools of Kannur Cluster attended the programme.


The content of CPPDPT is very useful for the teachers which included teacher as a reflective practiotioner, teacher as change agent , co operative learning , constructivism , language skills, transacting themes in EVS and many more which is very much essential to keep up with the latest trends.

The class on Innovation and Experimentation was organized  by Mrs Smita, PRT on 31/08/2015  who attended the one day workshop held at K V Kanjikode on 20th August .She gave a vivid idea of planning for Innovative projects and the documentation and procedure involved in it .

Apart from these Two Guest Speakers were invited outside KVS For Primary .

Class on Mask making and Puppet making by Shri Hari Narayanan Teacher, Kerala state.

In his class he showed different ways of making mask with simple locally available things and how can puppets be made easily and used for story telling . Later we had a hands on session for making some puppets and mask.


Class on simple science experiments and improvised teaching aids by Shri Prasad, Teacher Kerala state.



Through the class the teachers got an idea how to make simple and improvised teaching aids in science with locally available materials. He showed simple experiments related to air pressure , lateral inversion , pin hole camera, surface tension etc….

                भक्ति काम करने के लिए एक आदमी के जीवन में सफलता के बाहर लाता है. सब कुछ हम बनाने में बनाते हैं, और उत्पादन वहाँ एक घटक है और यह बेहतर है और सबसे अच्छा, साधारण और असाधारण, अच्छा और उत्कृष्ट के बीच फर्क पड़ता है. यह अदृश्य घटक 'भक्ति'
              कोई भी काम एक प्रार्थना हो अगर भक्ति के सभी पवित्रता के साथ preformed कर सकते हैं. अगर आप दुनिया में सारे पैसे था, तुम अभी भी एक ही काम है कि तुम सही अब कर रहे हैं कर रही है? अगर जवाब 'हां' है, तो तुम सही काम कर रहे हैं.
